One of my biggest takeaways from Atomic Habits by James Clear?

👉 Build systems, not just goals.
Because systems let you
win every single day — not just one day.

A goal might be: “Lose 10 pounds.”
A system is: “weight 3x/week + eat 'on plan' following
the Reset protocol mon-fri. Eat intuitively on weekends, repeat."

That’s my current “wellness” system, and I love how I feel when I’m running it.

That means I
get to win today. And tomorrow. And the next day. And while I did initially lose 75 pounds, I'm more delighted in the fact that I've continued the system for over 5 years! (!!!)

Becuase if your plan feels like punishment, white-knuckling through foods you hate, waiting for the scale to say the “right” number, you’re setting yourself up for one short-lived win...and the inevitable “backslide” that follows.

When you fall in love with your system,
There’s nothing to “fall off” of.
There’s just your new normal
life — and a way of doing it that feels aligned.

The magic is in the crafting of the system. Tweaking. Testing. Playing. Until it fits you, your values, your season, and your actual schedule.
