Greetings from Greece! I'm currently in the middle of a bucket list moment with my mom and sister. (I'll give a full report next Monday!)
But for now:
Here's your "think like a tourist" challenge:
Your brain loves routine—but it’s also sneaky. It runs most of your day on autopilot to save energy. That means you can drive to work, cook dinner, or even have a whole conversation without forming any lasting memories. (Oof.)
But when you do something novel—even just taking a different route to the grocery store—your brain lights up. Newness snaps you out of autopilot, engages your senses, and helps your brain seal the moment into memory. It’s how we create the kind of days that don’t just fly by unnoticed.
So this week: pretend you’re visiting your own town for the first time.
✨ Order something new at your regular coffee shop
✨ Wander a neighborhood you've never explored
✨ Ask a local friend what their perfect day looks like
I'll see you next week with your regular Monday Motivator (and some travelcore.)
xoxo, Katie Day
