☀️ start a new habit (5 ways to do it now!)

PSA: You didn’t fail your New Year’s resolutions.

Think about it. January is a TRAP. It’s cold, it’s dark by 4 PM, and you’re still recovering from the holiday chaos (and possibly still finding rogue Christmas decorations you swore you put away).

But spring? Spring is the real New Year.

Everything is waking up. The days are longer, the sun actually exists again, and you suddenly have the energy to do things—like go outside, open a window, or, I don’t know, finally tackle that goal you set when you were in a holiday cookie coma.

Here are five reasons why spring is actually the BEST time to build new habits:

1. More sunlight = more motivation. Longer, brighter days give your brain a natural energy boost. Studies show that sunlight increases serotonin, aka your "get stuff done" hormone.

2. Fresh start energy is real. Spring signals renewal in every part of nature—so if you feel an itch to declutter, reset, or start fresh, you’re biologically wired for it. Ride that wave.

3. It’s easier to be active. No more “it’s too cold” excuse. Warmer weather makes movement feel way less miserable, whether it's walking, exercising, or just existing outside your blanket cocoon.

4. Your brain craves change in the spring. The shift in seasons naturally triggers a “fresh start effect,” making it easier to break old patterns and start new routines. Your brain is literally more open to change right now.

5. Seasonal foods make healthy eating easier. Spring brings fresh, nutrient-dense produce (hello, berries and greens!), making it way easier to fuel your body with food that energizes you—without feeling deprived.

So if you thought you “failed” your resolutions? You didn’t. You were just waiting for the right season. And now? Now, you’re right on time.

Which is exactly why I’m kicking off the Habit Lab Spring Sale.
